Today, Mayor of Batumi Mr. LashaKomakhidze visited Batumi Botanical Garden, who together with the Director of the Garden Mr. Irakli Archaia got introduced with infrastructural works ongoing in the Garden. He also visited rehabilitated Lower Park and ever-blooming Square, rehabilitation of which will be launched in the nearest days and will be completed before the end of April.
Lasha Komakhidze also visited “Laboratory Corpus”, where rather large-scale repair-rehabilitation works were conducted. In particular, the roof of the building, doors and windows, ceiling were changed, the walls of the working rooms were painted, and the conditions were considerably improved, for laboratory as well as scientific-research works. City Mayor got introduced with ongoing works of the Car Station, which will be completed in February.
The head of the City received thorough information from the Garden Director about the works and projects, planned for 2018 by the Garden Administration. These include: total rehabilitation of the Scientific Library building, burying electric wires and installation of new decorative columns, purchase of the plant etiquettes, benches, waste bins and 2 unit electric cars, etc.
City Mayor also got interested with a number of issues related to future plans of the Garden, strategy, vision, scientific-research activities and existential conditions of the staff. He planned three pine-trees of two various species along the route road in the environs of the Administrative building.
