On March 11, 2017 Deputy Director of N.V. Tsitsin Main Botanical Garden at the Science Academy of Russian Federation, Head of Landscape Architecture and Planning Laboratory, Curator of Japanese Botanical Gardens Professor Elena Golossova paid a Business Visit to Batumi Botanical Garden. Ms. Elena Golossova held a working meeting with the Garden Administration and the representatives of the departments.
On March 14, 2017, at the Garden Administration a Russian Colleague made presentation upon her experience in the direction of Japanese Garden Culture and discussed the issues of reconstructing Japanese gardens of Batumi Botanical Garden together with the specialists.
The aim of a week-long visit of the guest is to provide methodological assistance to Batumi Botanical Garden in developing a Project Proposal for reconstructing is Japanese Gardens. The aforementioned visit also serves as a great opportunity sharing mutual experience and future collaboration in the sphere of exchanging plant collections, as well as planning conservative and landscape-architectural measures.
During the visit, the guest will be introduced with protected materials upon landscape architecture at the Garden Library; will participate in the Botanical excursions to the forest eco-systems of Ajara coastal zone.
