In the current year, the project presented by Batumi Botanical Garden supporting Plant Protection was announced as winner in the contest announced by TIKA, being written by the Department for Bio-Security (Head Miranda Tserodze).

In relation to this event, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey to Batumi Mr. Iasin Temizkan and TIKA Tbilisi Office Coordinator at the Administration of Prime Minister of Turkey Mr. Mustafa Korkmaz together with other co-workers visited Batumi Botanical Garden Administration.

During the meeting, Director of the Garden Mr. Irakli Archaia and honorable guest emphasized the aspects of mutual cooperation, as well as positive traditions, playing a significant role in strengthening friendly relationships existing between two countries.

The issue of strengthening mutual cooperation and partnership relationship was also discussed at the ceremony held in the Seaside Park of the Garden, where TIKA Tbilisi Office Coordinator at the Administration of Prime Minister of Turkey Mr. Mustafa Korkmaz granted the garden with portable rucksack equipment (50 units), biological pesticides (200 liter), insect catching trap (50 units), pheromone for the traps (100 units) within the frame of the program, total value of which comprised 23.659 USD.

The guests together with Mayor of Batumi Mr. Giorgi Ermakov visited the sightseeing of Batumi Botanical Garden, Nursery Economy of the Garden, where they got introduced with wide collection of plants.
