Director of Batumi Botanical Garden Mr. Irakli Archaia, head of the Local Flora and Conservation Department Mr. Davit Kharazishvili and Manager of Herbarium Foundation at the same department Mr. Nino Memiadze paid a business trip to Munich-Nymphenburg Botanical and Schachen Alpine Gardens in Munich (Federal Republic of Gemrnaby) from July 10 to July 20.

In the frame of the visit, a field trip was arranged in Schachen Alpine Botanical Garden, located at the height of 1800 m from the sea level, getting introduced with the structure and plant collection on site. Schachen Alpine Botanical Garden is situated on 1 hectare area, where up to 1000 wild plant species are incorporated from various mountainous regions of the world, among them Caucasus and Georgia.

The meeting with the Director of Nymphenburg Botanical Garden and Institute of Botany Ms. Susanne Renner was held.

After getting introduced with management, structure plant collections, conservation and educational programs, seed exchange foundation out staff members also visited Herbarium Foundation of the Botany Institute, where together with the management of the Herbarium Foundation all significant and key issues were discussed, necessary for functioning of the modern Herbarium Foundation and database.

With the support of Doctor Andreas Gröger and Doctor Wolfram Lobin a two-day trip was arranged to Frankfurt Municipal and Wurzburg University Botanical Gardens for our colleagues.
